A full day of indie roots programming designed to showcase the very best of the Northwest’s increasingly inspiring new folk scene. Bryan John Appleby will be headling the showcase, performing songs off his stunning recent album Fire on the Vine. If you haven't heard Appleby yet, do NOT miss this opportunity. He'll be joined by the best of Seattle's current folk movement: Youth Rescue Mission, Sons of Warren Oates, Kevin Murphy of the Moondoggies, Brother Bear, Ben Fisher, Goldfinch, and more! Portland will be well represented too, with some best-kept secrets from their indie roots scene: Alina Hardin (toured with Alela Diane), and Sean Flinn & The Royal We (a revelation at last year's Doe Bay Fest). Plus we've got hardcore folk powerhouses Pharis & Jason Romero from BC and Annie Ford & Greg Paul from Seattle.
Join us for a full day of great music in your favorite venue!

Hosted Master Jams in The Bourbon Bar during the concert!
Limited seating, so come early!
This all-star concert brings together artists from and inspired by Southern Appalachia. From the high lonesome singing of master North Carolina musicians Riley Baugus & Kirk Sutphin, to the barn-burning bluegrass of acclaimed band Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, this is the Seattle Folk Festival’s gala event.
Anna Roberts-Gevalt and Elizabeth LaPrelle, two young singers/musicians from Virginia, will premier a new Crankie (hand-rolled felt scroll designed around a traditional ballad) and perform the music they’ve learned first-hand in the mountains. The Canote Brothers are some of Seattle’s favorite old-time musicians, with a rollicking stage presence harkening back to the old days of country radio. Riley Baugus & Kirk Sutphin are neighbors in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and grew up playing with masters like Tommy Jarrell and Fred Cockerham. Riley Baugus is T-Bone Burnett’s favorite banjo player, appearing on albums with Willie Nelson, Alison Krauss, Robert Plant, and most famously in the movie Cold Mountain. Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen are one of the hottest bluegrass bands on the circuit, and their live shows are a near-religious experience.
